How to get started:
- Understand the Benefits: Learn how Meatless Monday helps support personal health and environmental sustainability by reviewing our benefits fact sheet.
- Get Administrative Support: Work with teachers, faculty, and foodservice staff to introduce Meatless Monday in your school. Use our sample outreach letter (or create your own).
- Find Meatless Monday Lesson Plans and Activities: Incorporate health, nutrition, and environmental education into your classroom lessons or school projects. Explore our collection of activities and worksheets, review sample lesson plans, or use our Get Started with Meatless Monday 12-week campaign.
- Promote Student Involvement: Work with student groups on a Meatless Monday program. Consider events, cafeteria- or curriculum-related program ideas, or review our sample success stories to see how other schools have implemented Meatless Monday. Send out updates and recipes to parents so families can get involved at home.
- Raise Awareness: Promote Meatless Monday through a schoolwide campaign. Review our resource library to find social media assets, printable posters and table tents, or newsletter copy to help spread the word to parents, students, faculty, and staff.
- Survey: Better understand how students and faculty feel about Meatless Monday and trying plant-based foods with pre and post surveys. Use the results to update a pilot or program for your next campaign or expansion.
